Privacy policy

Last updated: November 1, 2026

Who this applies to

This policy describes what happens to your data when you use hot-trip.org. We do not require an account and we do not take payments or ask for payment details on the site: purchases are made on the partners' websites.

What we process and why

• Approximate location. To show flights from your city, our server estimates your city from your IP address using third-party geolocation services (Travelpayouts and, as backups, ip-api.com and Sypex Geo). Your IP address is sent to them for that purpose. You can change the city by hand.
• Data stored in your browser. Your chosen city, the theme, a random session identifier for the assistant and dismissed notices are kept in your browser storage on your device.
• Analytics. We use Yandex Metrika to count visits and understand how the site is used. It sets cookies and may record page views, clicks and, where enabled, session replay.
• Assistant chat. Your messages, a random session identifier, your departure city, the date and your time zone are sent to our automation service and to an AI model provider (Google Gemini through OpenRouter) to produce an answer. Please do not enter personal data in the chat.
• Weather and fonts. Your browser requests weather data from Open-Meteo and fonts and icons from Google Fonts and cdnjs, so these services see your IP address.
• Server logs. Our web server records your IP address, the time, the requested page and your browser type for security and troubleshooting.

Partners and cookies

Links to partners carry a partner marker so that the partner knows the visit came from HotTrip. Partner websites set their own cookies and follow their own privacy policies.

What we do not do

We do not sell your personal data.

Your choices

You can clear your browser storage and cookies at any time, block cookies in your browser settings, or use a content blocker. The site still works without cookies, but your city and settings will not be remembered.

Children

HotTrip is not directed at children.

Changes

We may update this policy. The date of the latest update is shown at the top of the page.
